Does the driver make that much difference that far down the grid?? A couple of tenths is the difference between a good and really good driver but down the back a couple of tenths probably wont even get you a position earned...IMO. Not saying he's good or bad by the way

Kovalainen has had his bite at F1 and done F all.
Maldonado is considered to be a pay driver and has achieved much more in terms of results and credibility.
I say give the rent a drives a chance,the cream will always rise to the top by fair means or foul.

Payed drivers is against the spirit of the F1 culture. Since the introduction of the new teams they have not had the cash to support themselves financially so the paid drivers are employed to do that. There is no room for the rookies with the talent to strut their stuff.
In all honesty did Perez deserve a McLaren seat in only his second season? When you look at the stats no but he has huge money behind him.
It is not good for the sport nor for the Safty of the professional drivers that have to be looking over their shoulders at all times.
