Heh, guess I can't walk and comment at the same time!

Sean, since it wasn't a personal attack then you must be genuinely interested in how long I've been following F1. That's nice of you! Well, I was a fan of Button when he was at BAR and I liked McLaren back when they had Hakkinen. Not donkey's years but enough to know a little.

Don't teams get paid money per season, rather than once every 3? Lewis did outscore than Jenson in 2/3 seasons, after all.

Maybe I'm wrong, since I don't watch F1 for the finances. If you judge your drivers on how expensive they are per point then that's absolutely your prerogative, but I'll gauge mine by pace.

@ SJ ...

Eh? ... look mate, you are merely confirming what I know, and I couldn't care lerss about how long you have been following F1, or who you follow or anything else for that matter, so dont go flattering yourself ... but being brutally blunt, you are making this so easy ...

As for measuring your drivers on points, well, just answer me this, what other way is there to measure them? Guess? ... completely idiotic statement ... AGAIN! ... cant you see that? ... so we shouldn't rate strikers on number of goals, just how many tackles ... simply mind boggling! ... sorry, but that is THE most ridiculous thing i think I have EVER heard on these forums, and THAT is some achievement ... well done ... ?

I think I'll leave you for the real wolves! ... :-)

Oh, you don't care? That's strange... you brought it up! I'm devastated.

You can measure drivers on points and I never said otherwise. Lewis got more points than Jenson in 2/3 seasons. That's a good example.

And as for the straw man argument about football... phew! I would suggest that you can also measure drivers on the following...

Championships won.
Race wins.
Pole positions.
Fastest laps.
Non-mechanical retirements.

Jenson does pretty favourably under some of those criteria, Lewis under others.

@ SJ ... Ummm ... did I? ... Its posted here for all to see, I'm beginning to think your a troll mate ...

implication doesnt need an explanation ... maybe a bit challenging for you to understand that, although I'm not going to teach you any more! ...

Drivers being measure by

1. Championships, won on points!
2. Race Wins, again, points!
3. Pole Positions - Do I need to offer teh Vettel arguement here, I'm guessing yo have no idea what I'm referring too ... go look it up!
4. Fastest Laps, sometimes the slower car wins ... should ...
5. Non-Mechanical Retirements - again, points ...

Please let me know if I am missing something here?

In all, for all the hype and noise around Shammy, he delivers constantly below expectation ... or am I missing that too? :-)

"You probably didn't know that as a new fan to the sport" - Your comment page 4, but thanks for playing. I was just setting you straight.

Points are awarded for race wins, yes, but they're not that closely related. Example: Lewis won more races than Jenson while they were at McLaren, but Jenson got more points in total. What does that tell you? To me, that says Jenson is more consistent but Lewis is faster when he doesn't mess up.

I happen to prefer a mercurial driver to a slower, consistent one. If you disagree then that's fine, but don't get so worked up over it. All these insults... boring boring boring.

Lewis sometime performs below expectation, yes. Seb is a good example of similar speed married to consistency. Hopefully Lewis can learn that.

LH obviously has race craft, he won a championship and has been runner up too?
In the best car? Maybe. A bit like a certain German has for the last three years, in the best car!
It's not rocket science.
I like reading this site and on occasion learn something new about F1 from posters. Shamefully, for all your posts, you've not managed that!
It would be interesting to tot up the 'bile' posts you leave.
I hope all the British drivers do well. I look forward to the season.

zelda. i think that tys idea of racecraft is different to yours. racecraft includes such things as pacing yourself, staying out of trouble etc etc. just being in the fastest car and booting it, does not aleways provide the right results. that is why button was able to do so well against lulu.
