@jackbee its logical to make a trust as when you own such large companies you are at big risk of litigation and this limits what can be taken from you, anyone can make one i wouldn't hate the player, hate the game.

Luke.....So that makes it right does it?

Sod everyone else that loses money, just so long as you are covered. A lady in India committed suicide because Kingfisher Airlines financial problems left her in a terrible financial position, and no, she wasn't some savvy investor just the wife of an engineering employee.

She had no special "trust" to hide behind.

Its called a trust, separates your money from anything you owe so your personal income can't be touched in situations like this, any person with a brain would have one if owning such large assets like mallaya.

How long will it be before Force India is forced to close it's doors, F1 is in a precarious place at the moment with Caterham and Marussia dropping paid drivers and several teams appearing to have severe financial problems. Had the cost cutting mooted by Mad Max Mosley actually happened F1 might now be in a stronger position. Perhaps Bernie will wake up one day and realise that the thing that has lined his pockets to the tune of billions of pounds is a wounded animal and needs to be nurtured to bring it through the current crisis.
However I don't see much changing, the rich get richer and the rest be damned.

... and Sahara are having some bank accounts frozen for not repaying 52bn...

Surprised at FT though... the reason to have separate business entities is to protect them in case one get's into problems.. morality of not bailing the airline out with his personal money?? tabloid journalism at it's worst..

This was on the cards nearly a year ago, you can't not pay Pilots for 6 months, suppliers, fuel companies etc. and expect to get away with it.
But, as they say "Owe the Bank $100 you are in trouble, owe the Bank $1.6BILLION and...................."

Richard is correct , the banks will take every step to recover money owed to them, its only a matter of time, would not be surprised if Force India don't make it to the end of the season
