Richard, on the 19th “first day” the top four all set their fastest time on mediums while Maldonado was on soft tyres.
Up to lunch time Vettel was leading from Rakkonen and Alonso with all three on hard tyres, but then Red Bull spent much of the afternoon on medium tyres.
20th “day two” Perez and Vettel both set their times during a one lap stint/run on soft tyres, Rakkonen was on mediums tyres Lulu on hard tyres and Alonso on mediums.
Richard, try get to the site I recommended to Rob (fi test info/2013 php rev=on), one will have a recorded chart for each car with out lap/stint-run laps/in lap and sitting in pits all with timed laps and time of day, from the number of laps in stint/run the fuel load can be worked out as per the fuel loads used I gave the other day.

Sodesu, the first four were all on medium.
The number of laps of the run/stint that the top four set their fastest times on were as follows, Rosberg 9 lap stint, Rakkonen 5 lap stint, Alonso 12 lap stint, Vettel 8 lap stint, the fuel loads can be worked out by the number of laps in the run/stint, 20kg fuel load is used for a 6 lap run/stint, less than that is used to simulate qualifying.
Anybody interested more in detail than blab should visit F1 test info/2013 php? rev=on, Rob, do try it, chose your native language and carefully try work it out (the charts), if you do and manage I will be very happy for you.

mercedes are the fastest car on the grid now because testing times mean everything even if they are slower then last year.

on a serious note anyone remember Bmw sauber in 2008, sand bagged the entire winter said they failed in development came to melbourne and were are front runner right from the get go.

Rob, yes, I place great value on testing, and yes the Mercedes was the fastest today by 007 of second.
We will have to wait and see who comes out on top from this place/test after testing is done with.
