I thought Jenson was the new rain-master? According to some pundits he has a touch and a feel in wet conditions that makes him superior to the rest , seems like someone forgot to inform f1's fastest in all condition.

Problem with JB is if car is not perfect he becomes lost and until he learns how to drive around some situations then he wont be in Alonso or Lewis's class. Cant speak for Vettel as he has been driving super cars for the last three years.

Nico is faster than Jenson. People only rate Button because he's British and white, and that appeals to their petite minds. The idea that Button is anywhere close to Hamilton is ludicrous, and beyond discussion.

Anyways, the way Hamilton tells it, the Mercedes will do well to be within a second of the pole in Australia - but I've got a funny feeling it'll be more like 6 to 8 tenths.

Fellas, Fellas, PLEASE!!! Can we just wait till the race in Down Under to start the critique, till then we only have mere assumptions to go by during these testing phases....but from what I've seen Lulu needs to step up or shut up in the Mercedes when its race time and when its for all the marbles. Hate him or love him, HE IS A COMPETITOR WHO DOES NOT GIVE UP! He has my respect in that regard....

dirty dave. do you actually follow live commentary? there were very few cars ever out on the track at one time. in fact several did not even post times as they were practising pit stops. and then there was the use of slicks, inters and wets, with differing cars on different tyres. absolutely NOTHING can be assumed from these times, other than that lulu was out on the right tyres at the right time, on the right fuel load etc etc.

at melbourne, we will finally see true pace.

Richard, correct, there was none of the four cars on track at 11h 54min “when Lulu set his best time because he was on the right tyre at the right time” that Mercedes are supposed to be fighting for grid positions with, but still button not being on track at the same time as lulu managed to get very close a time to his. That's why I asked these (on here) fan boys , what's all this fuss/excitement all about?.
