A very quick mercedes I see. I am now even more excited to see how lewis is going to drive that car to victory. It's hopefully gonna blow the haters out of the water.

Go on lewis.

dogg. dont get too fired up! this isTESTING, and team were trying different configs. lulu was out on prototype softs (which were actually faster than the normal super softs) and set his time on those, and with light load. this is showboating , something that merc did last year as well. massas time was set on mediums. the reality is that true race times are not being shown. the track is far colder than any track to be used in the season, so tyres are not acting normally.

lets wait and see how the mercs do in melbourne!

"Hamilton blitzes Barcelona on final outing"

...Also lapping quickly on the medium compound rubber, Hamilton would remain out front for the rest of the day with no-one else able to dip below the 1min 21secs marker during the course of the afternoon...

I love how 1 fast lap makes him 'Truly the fastest in F1'.

I'm wondering how long before the Hamilton fanboys actually realise that a formula 1 race is slightly more than 1 lap.

Maybe one of the fastest qualifiers, but definitely not the fastest over the course of a grand prix - you know, the important thing they do on Sundays that gives them the points.

Actually, Lewis is one of the fastest over course of a grand prix. His number of F1 wins is higher than everyone on the 2013 grid bar Seb and Nando, with the latter having 87 more starts than Lewis does. Don't conflate consistency over a season with ability to win individual races - Lewis does it with the best of them.

Anyway, that was a fast lap today but there's no way the Red Bulls have shown their speed. The Mercs started strongly last year but faded badly thereafter, I think avoiding that will be their challenge for 2013.
