just as I suspected Rosberg is way faster than lewser.

if lewser barely outpaces button (ofcourse with the "help" of his papa ron dennis) sabotaging buttons car, its not very surprising to me that rosberg is like half a second faster than lewser's best time.

it would be the same story except its not scammacher not getting outpaced but rather the most overrated f1 driver on the face of the earth.

For sure, lewsers fans would blame the team and the car for his poor performance and I would not be surprised at all if lewser cry again on twitter and post telemetry data "convincing" his fans on disbelief how rosberg outpaces him

I said it the first time Nico raced an F1 car. I've been saying it ever since. Nico is a VERY fast F1 driver. He did give Schumi fits. Of course Michael was 40 and Nico in his 20's, but still Nico compared favorably to The King of Formula One.
I can see Nico beating the socks off Hamilton. That would Put ALL the fanboys in their place. Jenson did it. I think Nico is a much better driver than Jenson, so I expect it. I will be saying I told you so.

Ive always said the Nico was the best German driver and if this car is as good as the Red Bulls then i will be proved right. Lewis will have to be at his very best to beat Nico in identical cars but we must remember Lewis was on heavier fuel when setting that time so i believe he is still f1's quickest driver.

'Hamilton Blitzes Barcelona...' 'Rosberg Keeps Mercedes Top...'

Bit of a different take on two fast times, eh? Why a more sober reading of Rosbergs time? Especially given that it was the fastest of the winter, or, at least, the two Barcelona tests! It seems whenever it comes to Lewis it's all far more exciting, sensational, etc, etc. And the fanboys are so predictable. One minute, oh Lewis can drive the wheels off anything, he'll take Rosberg apart. Then it's, well you can't expect him to be faster than Nico given how little time he's had in the car. It's all quite sad really. Hamilton's fanboys brains are going to explode, trying to find excuses, if he gets beat by Rosberg this year!

jim. dont spoil the fun! i get a lot of stick for posting facts, but here are some more, to reinforce what i have been saying.....these are oficial figures

nico fastest lap 6.3 kg of fuel
alonso 8.9
lulu 5.2
vettel 60.0

now ,if that does not prove that lulu was carrying less fuel than the others, what does?

It's the same old crap with Hamilton! Just because it's Hamilton it MUST be more exciting! What a load!

It's the same crap Button has had to put up with for 3 years. Oh, Button is slow and boring and Hamilton is fast and exciting.

Well have a look at the last 3 years and for every 'exciting' Hamilton move I'll show you 2 more exciting and aggresive moves from Button.

The 'excitment' and 'raw speed' (whatever that means) from Hamilton is a myth.

You watch, everytime Rosberg wins or beats Hamilton, it'll be because the Merc was set up for him and the team are against hamilton.

Everytime hamilton wins or beats Rosberg, it'll be because he's the best driver in the world.

Maybe Mercedes has found the answer this year. It would be great to see them challenge Red Bull, Ferrari and McLaren for the championship. As for a Rosberg/Hamilton matchup, I would predict Rosberg is every bit up to the challenge. Shaping up to be a very interesting season.

richard, bob, no-one's been talking about Rosberg as a championship contender, whether in the media or on blogs. If the Mercedes really is the class of the field this year (and I wouldn't put it past Ross Brawn to pull it off) then we could be in for one of the all-time major upsets if Nico beats Lewis, not just within Mercedes but to the title.

ps don't want to spoil the fun at all. I've rather enjoyed the wriggling of Hamilton fans over recent years, trying to justify why this didn't happen, or that did happen!

jim (crint) leaving aside the nico/lulu debate, it would be nice to see merc mixing it, but in the cold weather, they have had overheating problems, and they have been reasonably ok with tyres. however, despite the apparent encouraging times, i think that we will find that they are still somewhat behind. they have been trying drastic mods, and if the car is right, there should be little need for these. last year, they were one of the fastest in testing, but when it came to the race, it was a different story. and oddly, last year, the bulls were amongst the slowest in testing, and look where they ended up. if vettel can be within 2 secs of nico,
/alonso, and with 60 kg of fuel, then it would appear that the bulls will be fast. and dont forget, most of their testing was race sim. it will take a few races before the pecking order is established, but i could be interesting. roll on the next 12-13 days
