"The long game" huh? The best car ever? Give me a break. He should've kept quiet until the car was put through it's paces. Sorry, Jenson there will be no excuses this year. You'll just have to suck it up! Team Leader! lol

@all the Hamilton fanboys

My original comment was in response to the suggestion that Button would be lucky to finish 5th or 6th now that McLarens 'fastest' driver is gone.

I simply pointed out that in 3 years as team mates, Hamilton finished no higher than 4th, but Button the 'slow' driver finished a highest of 2nd.

And everyone who thinks Button is slow and boring and Hamilton is so exciting and aggressive, I suggest watching the last 3 years of racing. For every 'exciting' move from Hamilton, I'll show you 2 from Button.

You bang on about Hamilton being the only top driver to deliver McLaren a WDC in the recent past, and that makes home better than the other drivers, including button.

Well, I'm sorry, but Hamilton only delivered 1 WDC for McLaren in 6 years. That means Button has another 3 years to get a WDC for McLaren and equal Hamilton's record at McLaren.

Hamilton has also been at McLaren longer than all the other drivers you mentioned too.

Anyway, you bang on about how good he is cause he won the WDC in his second year. Well, Button won the WDC in his FIRST year in a car capable of winning the championship. Took Hamilton twice as long!

It is kind of strange that McLaren suffer from pit errors and unreliability, their most reliable season of recent times (as far as I can remember) was the season that 'the most hated' drove their car, then he left and seems to have taken reliability with him

@Fernandabulous -- The MP4-28 is NOT an evolution of last season's MP4-27.. so Mclaren don't get to pick up where they left off in Brazil -- McL copied Ferrari's pull-rod front suspension for MP4/28 (MP4-27 had Push-rod front suspension) -- and a completely different rear-end treatment and exhaust layout compared to MP4-27 -- It's a completely new car..

Redbull has questioned Mclaren's wisdom in doing this risky path -- when they had one of the fastest cars already. We'll find out soon if Mclaren's edgy decision will pay off for them or not.
