Of course it's passed over. This is not a sport in the same way that athletics and ball sports are. People talk about how you have to be fit for F1 but in reality it is nothing compared to the hours of training athletes in other sports do. Also, the fact that the car is vastly more important than the driver doesn't help the cause.

F1 teams or drivers should never win this award or even be nominated. It is not sport in the sense that they mean.

And i say that as a "former" die hard F1 fan. F1 is what it is and that is great but it is not a pure sport.
