F1 » Ecclestone: Another Vettel title no bad thing

Bernie Ecclestone would not rail against another Sebastian Vettel success in 2013, but isn't predicting it just yet.

The FIA has many a lot of rule changes this year (and last year) all of which seem to be motivated by a desire to slow down Red Bull. Berine can say what he likes - the people running the sport have made it clear they want an end to RB dominance.

I would have thought that that was the last thing we wanted, I think Bernie's been distracted by having another daughter getting married and having to foot the £20million bill! plus I've always assumed that most of what he says is purely to wind people up anyway which he succeeds in doing judging by the comments on here.

I don't care who takes the championship as long as it's not Vettel, no disrespect to him or Red Bull they've done a good job these last 3 years but I for one don't want to see a return to 1 driver dominance it's just plain boring

The Schumacher era was boring because every season it was obvious he was going to be champion by the time the season was half over.

The Vettel era is much more exciting because two of his titles were won in the last race of the season. That's what makes the sport entertaining - the name of the driver who wins is much less important than how he gets there.

senna forever. so what would you have been saying when your idol was pretty well dominating?

personally, it worries me not if a driver is dominating, as it spurs others to work harder, or drive harder to try and beat him. but remember, nobody can dominate forever, so just as the schumi reign came to an end, sebs will also come to an end, but as long as he continues at the front for more years, i would be quite happy.
