F1 » Button worried by lack of McLaren pace

Jenson Button might have won last year's Australian GP, but on Friday he couldn't even crack the top ten at the end of free practice.

I'm going to laugh SO HARD when McLaren develop this car into the class of the field and are winning races left right and centre!

I can just hear the Hamilton fanboys moaning now!

It doesn't take a writing expert to detect the same voice behind the majority of the anti-Button posts (lol, 'no grip', blah, blah, blah!) If Button is an average driver, what does that make Lewis Hamilton, who Button comprehensively out-drove in 2011?

Before the anti-Button brigade start crowing too loud, remember Ferrari were in this position at the start of last year and they won the 2nd race. McLaren can turn it around, they have that pedigree, a lot of them will be hurting right now and they'll be fired up to do it. Enjoy it while it lasts, naysayers! Button will be stuffing your negativity down your throats, yet again, before too long!

You must be a Jenny fanboy.

He was in a semi competitive car at the start of his career and it took him 100+ races to win........................

It took a change in the rules and a clever team to help him win the championship............

He's not even nearly in the same league as Fernando, Seb, Kimi or Lewis..................

McLaren let the wrong man go.

Ha ha ha ha ha Oh common, Lewis is now at Mercedes, please lets leave out of the discussion atleast no matter what condition the car is Lewis would put the car in either of the 2 front row..... in 2011 Button won 3 races the same amount of races Lewis won.

Rather than showing who has the biggest ********, lets just watch the next 19 races.

LH, JB, SV are all in the cars as they are the worlds best drivers. Every driver has a talent on the grid.

Being a JB fan I hope MCL sort it out and they will......

Stop moaning about who is better and lets see at the end of the season!

"no matter what condition the car is Lewis would put the car in either of the 2 front row"

Really? So in 2010 when he qualified 11th and 2009 he qualified 15th - what happened?

I mean, after all, whatever the condition of the car, Hamilton is just brilliant and would put it on the front 2 rows.

Bob, in 2010, Lewis finished 5th after being punted around by an out of control Mark Webber.
In 2009 he finished 3rd after fairly passing Trulli who'd ran off the track behind the safety car. He asked whether to give the position back, which he duly did. However, he was later disqualified for teliing the FIA that Trulli passed him unfairly. However, he was told to tell this lie by a senior McLaren team member, who was later dismissed over what he'd told Hamilton to say......

Jenson always tells it like it is. The car is a handful at present, yes , Lewis might have got a bit more out of it, and smashed it up, the car is uncompetitive right now, but we will see what happens in the race.
The Mercs are fast, but will they finish.......

Well, what a turn of fortune. If this is the true reflection of the McLaren then Whitmarsh should get packing. No excuse for such a terrible start to the season after all we all know what is at stake.
