In 2012 Mclaren had a very fast (but unreliable) car and a fast driver. They let the fast driver go then ditched the fast car.... Mclaren's arrogance is starting to hurt them.

Wake up call for the team and it was a very poor performance for them. Might be the same in Malaysia unless they get can some work done to up their pace...

Surprise..surprise..this is embarrasing..a humiliation..as long life McLaren fan this is like a nightmare..enough with Martin..n find another designer..

Not a great fday for the team.
But....better this start & move to improve rapidly later than have the great start that flattered to deceive that they had last year & fade fast as others caught up.

I know the car is slow and would not have challenged for the win or podium, but hey Martin, do you miss a certain guy who does a really good job with a slow car? He could have taken it to 7th

If I said it once, I've said it 100 times. Albert park is a unusual track which never usually bears representation to the rest of the year. Whoever is fast here can struggle on the few tracks to follow and vice-versa.
Too early for all this doom and gloom...

That was a good race to kick off the year. I guess it's not really a surprise that Kimii won given the progress that team made last year. He drove great though, faultless. I guess the only thing McLaren can take from this is that they scored a couple of points, at least, and they had good reliability. Sauber and Mercedes still have a few gremlins to sort out.

But it looks like 2009 again for McLaren. Having such a radical change to what was the fastest car at the end of last year, given the regulations remaining the same, looks like a case of over-egging the pudding!
