@jim crint

I actually like Button he is a nice guy and a grear driver also. Not on the level of Alonso, Kimi, Vettel and Hamilton but close to them. I bet he will win a race some time this year. Maca cannot be this bad all season.

This is the best car that MCLAREN have EVER built says Button. Now he says.

So poor was McLaren's performance that Jenson Button declared that the MP4-28 was not capable of winning races and that major updates would be needed to put the car on the front of the grid.

I wonder how someone could make such a ridiculous statement to start the year only to turn 180 in two seconds. But of co**** there was an unbeatable structure announced and we all know how that went.

Oh you guys make me laugh.
A lot of bashing going on both end he with Ham and button.
Button is a very underrated driver and ham is overrated at the moment. He will get better in time but he not the guy you think he is he is no master.
If you look at the last 3 season button has outscored Lewis with points. When Lewis joined McLaren he had a car that had been groomed by Alonso (don't like him but some much a better driver then Lewis) as soon as that man left McLaren started to lose and Lewis was not skilled to set-up a car in my eyes.
If you look at his time with button you can see that two had been learning a thing or two of each other. I can remember Lewis burning is tyres up all the time and after a few years with button he is doing this less and less. The same goes for but he was not an aggressive driver but he also learnt a thing or two from Lewis.
When the two decided two go for their own set-up we found that Jenson mostly picked the better set-up and Lewis was down the grid s

saying he picked the wrong set-up.
Out of the two button uses his head a lot more and makes more of the calls on track then any driver. This was learnt from being in bad cars for the start his journey in F1.
Now to the point about the car.
As for pre season comments about the car being the best. He did say this but he also said that they will have to wait as see what it is like for real on the track and take it from there which they are doing.
The main issues is that McLaren got it wrong they will bounce back but its just going to take time.
I also agree with some other comments said that Jenson is well respected by all in F1 which is true.
Again he wouldn't have a seat if he was sh!t now would he.

WHAT !!! Hamilton was one of the test drivers for Mclaren during 2006 before Alonso even plonked his bum in the car!! So Alonso got in a car partly developed by Hamilton and as a double world champ still couldnt beat a rookie straight from GP2

Nickfox Well he certainly turned the 2009 dog of a car into a race winner that was 2 secs off the pace at the first race and last Season Button had to use Hamiltons setup when he was continually finishing way out of the points and even LAPPED by Hamilton in the same car during the first half of the season.

@Cookie i really dont believe that this is the case. i do believe that the set-up come from the Simulator and not from ham. he is just not that wise. (dont get me wrong he is improving the longer he is in f1)

yes button first season with the team was slower then his team mate but the to be expected with most drivers. and it wasn't log before he got in the grove

Nickfox Well he must be wiser than people think as Button himself admitted he had to use Hamiltons Setup last season because he lost his way trying to get heat in the tyres. Also Hamiltons engineers have always spoke about how good he is at setting up a car.
