This is the worst McLaren team I can remember, from team principle to drivers the car looks shocking to drive, and I've never taught much of button as a great guy to build a car around, we're in trouble

Button spent a good part of his career developping a car with BAR-Honda. We all know how that one evolved. At the end of the day, the only person who saved Button from following BAR-Honda at the EXIT door following their failure after failure over the years was Ross Brawn.

Now driving for McLaren, I remember how excited he (Button) was towards the end of last season with the prospect of him being the sole contributor to this year's car and building the car that will suit his driving style. Well, we are seing the same result as the ones we saw with BAR few years ago.

With Button now at the twilight years of his career, McLaren better make sure he doesn't take them with him when he leaves the sport.

All you Jenson knockers need to look at the team mates he beat in other teams. Rubens, Jacques etc.. They were not bad drivers. Villeneuve said if Button beta him at Bar/Honda, he would retire from F1 and guess what...he was beaten and he retired. Jenson beat Rubens who was good enough to beat Schumi when he was allowed to. The facts speak for themselves. Also, why would a top team pay £ms to employ him, oh, and he beat Lulu in his first year at MacLaren. Just look and the facts before you start uttering your dislikse please.

Spot on oldtimer & Ben,
I personally never thought of him as a top driver but a good one and have followed his career from williams to bar then the lucky jackpot with a unbeatable Brawn GP, and with that and the DD advantage he won 6/7 then struggled for the rest of the season. Was it pressure or was it his true ability showing which was why he was never picked by top teams throughout his career tilll he reached to BAR and honda?
I think its both, and with his inability on improving the car drives, Mclaren are in for a shocking season this year.
Over and out.

EDIT by CRASH.NET! Insult to driver removed.

do you mean he did good job or bad? button cannot take credit for double diffuser and the rest of brawn car was pretty orfinary after other teams added dd of their own.

@oldtimer, I'm thinking that with a new power plant next year, evolution is prudent. Next year will be revolution.

Besides that, one race and those 9 lap prime tyres? As well as that Albert Park is a one of a kind track and Button is their number one driver, it all adds up.
