Hamilton 'pleased to prove people wrong'

The only people he proved wrong were his fans. We all know including his delusional fans that Hamilton would not have won a single race let alone a championship if he didint get preferential treatment from McLaren. And he is thankfull enough he left them as if he can be successfull in another team. To his delusional fans, Hamilton will prove you wrong this season.

I just realised something. If this is "proving someone wrong" then I guess Lulu's goal this year truly is FIFTH place in the championship.
Instead of talking tough, Lulu should realise his car is behind at least 3 other teams and its time to be humble and put his nose to the grindstone and work that car of his out.
Its not time to be declaring small victories.
Its a time for Mercedes to be worried that THREE other teams have shown superior pace.
But then, logic never was a Lulu virtue.
Oh man, this season is gonna be really funny watching Lulu and listening to him. F1 is better for his entertainment value!

PS,
does anyone know what the 2 things on the sides of the engine air intake scoop are on Kimi's car. They look like boxing gloves glued to the side of the scoop.
For the life of me I can't imagine their purpose.

@taipan - I was wondering what the Sauber might do with Nico Hulkenberg at the wheel. This weekend we'll find out I guess. They and Force India might really do something this year. Nico's exuberance ran away with him in Brazil but he might have won that race!

McLaren at the moment are in that group. Quite ridiculous considering where they were at the end of last year, but there you go. If they've made progress with the car this weekend there might be a title challenge after all, but if they're still floundering....

ptolomy. there are scops either side of the air intake, for introduction of air to the drd. these aer open when running drd, but when they are not, lotus streamline and block the intakes with a cover.

of course , now that you mention bxing gloves, maybe they are just that, and used to give kimi a thump to wake him up??/? :D :D

it is amazing, Lulu says something and everyone has their two cents to add, Jenson says this macca is the best ever and everyone has nothing to say. says it all really. hoping that the enlightened can shed light if the issues at macca are similar to what Jenson was doing between Bahrain and Canada last year when he was racing the midfield pack whilst his team mate was at the other end of the grid. is there a set up issue?

I think what Lewis is saying is that his move to Mercedes was the right one especially given how bad the McLaren looks so far. I'm not a Lewis fan or any driver's fan for that matter but I think he is right on this occasion.

Now he just needs to work hard with the team to see what they can achieve this year. It would be good to have them fighting at the front with Ferrari, RBR and Lotus - especially if it is unlikely that McLaren will be up there.

Richard, I thought they looked like blocked off air intakes, but I just couldn't let myself believe that they would do that instead of fitting a different engine cover WITHOUT the scoops altogether. I mean, it looks like these huge knots hanging off the sides of the intake would create more wind resistance and creating unnecessary drag. Could someone more up on aerodynamics put in their 2 cents?
I guess you can't argue with Lotus' results... they did win!
