Macca really are a bit of a mess at the mo. One story I heard was that in the barc. tests, when JB appeared impressively fast, they had put the suspension on the wrong way round giving the car a much lower ride height and artificial pace. Incredible to think a team could make such a balls up. Anyway, here's hoping that they can turn it around.

It's pretty sad that Button is counting on a repeat of last season and even if it happens the front runners are going to be miles ahead after 4 or 5 races. And he would then have to start winning and getting regular podiums to catch up. With the best will in the World that is unlikely to happen, I have seen no evidence to suggest that Button has sorted his qualifying problems either so it is likely he will have his usual struggle and even this assumes that McClaren will have the car totally sorted. I also read the story of the incorrectly fitted suspension part and while anybody can make a mistake McClaren constantly tell us that they are the best in the business. Sorry Bob, that should read were best in the business. I feel sorry for Button and Perez who must have thought all his prayers had been answered with a McClaren drive. The most puzzling thing about this sorry saga is that Button had a great deal of input into the new car which begs the question does he really know what he wan

no, not going to be like last year, or at least not inc Mclaren. Their only chance of a podium will be the next race, with the old car. After that I can't see them catching the others after that

the sensible teams did an updated 2012 car, so they can concentrate more time on a next years car. Mclaren are now going to spend valuable time trying to understand this year's more 'radical' car.. and they will be on the backfoot again for next season as a result

Maybe Button is right on this one. Maybe the first races will have different winners. Raikkonen already won. Mercedes looks quite fast in wet conditions so we can expect Rosberg or Hamilton to win either in Malaysia or China which usually are wet races. And we should not underestimate neither Alonso nor Vettel. I belive that they should be able to fight a fair battle in the dry Bahrain, with Raikkonen in the mix as well. Until than McLaren should be concentrated on damage limitation and by Spain they must, I repeat MUST be on attact mode. If they fail....lets wait for the Formula 1 2014 season... McLaren!

Yeah, maybe he will just luck into it like the Brawn - which he had no hand in developing.

Hang on, I know what happened. During the 2008 season, Hamilton was probably sneaking over to Honda and developing the 2009 car for Jenson.

That's what must have happened.

Did I say Button had any imput into developing the Brawn, I don't think so, what I actually said was that he was very lucky stepping into a car that was much faster than the opposition at the start of 2009. The fact that you read something into it which was not meant is not my problem, more a result of your persistant missreading of what people actually say. What Lewis Hamilton has to do with it is beyond me. Anyway you would be well advised to stop falling of your perch because it's obviously affecting you badly.

macca i dont know if the suspension report is true but the very fast lap of jb in testing was with one set of the pirelli prototype tires. each day pireli asked one or two drivers to do some hot laps on special tires they were trying out, so we do not know how really much of that time was jb and how much was tire.
