holly. what has lulu to do to impress me??? well, first of all, he has to be impressive. got it?
i fully accept that he is a good driver, but basically lucked into his sole wdc (yeah, i know that luck always come into play in most wdcs) but he really has not been impressive and turned driving the best car, into consistent wdcs. after all, in the last number of years, he has only been in 4 or 5th in wdc rankings. can be fast on his day, but consistency is also needed to win.

What does Hamilton have to do to impress us?? Are you kidding? That's rich coming from a Hamilton fan!

More like, what does Button have to do to impress Hamilton fanboys?
He humbly joined McLaren because he wanted to go up against one of the best, which he said. During their time as team mates he was always respectful of Lewis and the team, scored 8 wins to Lewis's 10, became the only F1 team mate in history to beat Hamilton over a season and scored more points in total than Hamilton did over 3 years.

Did he get respect and admiration from Hamilton fans? Did he ********! Nothing but vile diatribe since the day he announced he was joining McLaren and it still continues today.

When Hamilton fans pull their heads out of their butts and start giving other drivers their fully deserved credit, perhaps we'll lay off Hamilton a bit.

Lewis is not caning Rosberg. He was not caning him in Australia. The gap was pretty constant andfinished at 4.6 when Rosberg retired. It's no use saying who was quicker in karting way back when. People improve in whatever their job is.
Put it this way if today's times from practice belonged to Schumacher and not Lewis then Schumi would be getting all the usual abuse from the pundits.

So Going up against a double world champion in you rookie year and matching him for points and pace is not immpressive!! Winning GP2 at your first attempt is not impressive!! Dominating Euro F3 with something like 15 wins from 18 races when you team mate one Mr A Sutill only scored 1 win is not impressive!!
He even was over a second quicker then Vettel on Top gear! Over the rest of this season we shall see who comes out on top at Mercedes....it wont be Rosberg

Oh and bob shame the championships in F1 go year to year. Hamilton gets Button 2-1 there as well to go with his more wins and loads more poles!
Fairly immpressive I would say

"what does Button have to do to impress Hamilton fanboys"

He needs to learn how to race properly when the car isn't perfect and stop relying on rain or Ross Brawn to luck him into victories.

He was involved in a pretty funny radio conversation 1/2 seasons ago at one of the euro tracks. He comes on the radio "I've got understeer!" and then literally 4 laps later "I've got oversteer!". So mclaren change his tyres and then like 5 laps later "I've got no grip!"

Rolling on the floor, laughing!

holly. a bit prickly today, are we? i could go into explanations for your comments, but it would only fall on deaf ears. the simple fact is that lulu has done nothing to make him stand out. even to the extent where he has been beaten three years running by a kid .

and as for top gear? that is not a competition, and is only a fun thing. lulu even had to try it twice before he beat vettel.

@Angelina

Do you think Button's conversation was more or less funny than Vettel on the radio in Spa last year crying for his team to DO SOMETHING cause the little cry baby wasn't quick enough to do anything himself?

Of course you can't assess the merits of both drivers on the strength of one qualy and one . .Most are assessing the pair on past history. ..like as I've said before, carting to name just one...Lewis had the upper hand in near equal equipment. .that will surely play on Nico. ..another point is. .If Nico is supposedly better than Lewis why wasn't he snapped up by the likes McLaren. .end of the day Nico was the one with racing pedigree through his wdc dad. .believe me, if Nico was the nuts he would of stood out years ago.

Not Prickly Richard just sick of clueless armchair racers who all think they are experts on Motorsport who cannot see past Hamiltons annoying personality to the quality driver he actually is.
Even if he went up against Vettel in the Redbull and beat him in qualifying and the races certain people on here would STILL have negative things to say about him.
But I tell you what we will all miss him when hes gone because whatever you think he is the main reason a lot of people watch the sport
