Interesting times by some teams such as Ferrari.

Hamilton was fast but his tyres were totally ruined at the end. I'm not sure what pace he will be able to do and still keep his tyres off the cliff.

Sutil is looking fast again. all up it should be very interesting qualifying.

Jenson just 3/10ths off the pace.......it only needs to rain now...
McLaren making headway, perhaps a bit quicker than anticipated. The season doesn't feel right without the Mac's up there. There has been no excuses, no whinging, no subterfuge from Jenson, his tweets have been professional, focused, and Perez is surprised by The openness from his teammate . Can this really be the Jenson that the detractors love to vilify? He is still one of the best ambassadors this sport has ever had.

I didn't see the tyres. Good info.
Were they really 'in bits' ?
Last year it seemed the Merc was notorious for tyre degradation, it doesn't if that's correct, got any better.
A shame really and something Toss must address as soon as poss.
Alonso may have an average car at this circuit but we've seen Ferrari play their cards close to their chest before. I believe the car may yet have something left and the driver certainly will.

zelda. i didnt see lulus tyres, but have a look at the photo of the tyre on the f1 index page of this site (second headline). to have a tyre in that state, on whichever car, is frankly scandalous. makes a mockery of the term RACE for these events.

Richard I was watching Practise 2 yesterday and was amazed that the tyres were literally shedding for all the teams at the same point on the circuit around turns 12 and 13. There were some good super slow-mo cameras there and the tyres had large chunks simply flying off! How is that making the sport better if the drivers cannot race at 100% due to the degradation???
