F1 » Vettel defies orders to win in Malaysia

Sebastian Vettel claimed his first win of the 2013 F1 season, but caused a whole heap of controversy as he headed a Red Bull 1-2 at Sepang.

"Another knobhead like shumacher."

There is something really distasteful about the English hatred for Germans.

If Vettel was any nationality other than German, he's get maybe a hundredth of the abuse he actually does get.

I have to give the bonehead award of the race to Ferrari for leaving Alonso out on the track with no front wing...I mean really, u build a car dependent on aero, lose a major part of that aero and think that its going to work?
Ferrari looked to be the only team that couldve challenged RB..well, one of the Ferrari's anyway.

"Seb is generally the one Mark is not allowed to pass"

When is Mark "generally" not allowed to pass Seb?

Was he "not allowed" to pass Seb at the Brazilian GP last year? You'd think he would have been, under the circumstances, but he did his best to cost Seb the title.

@Fernandabulous

“I ignored the team and I was battling to the end.” - Mark Webber

He did by his own admission. It won't let me post links, but google that phrase and you will find plenty of sources.

Facts are...
Team orders are now part of the sport.
The drivers are contracted to drive on behalf of their team.
In both situations today there was no gain to allowing the following driver to take over their team mates position.
If either team had felt threatened by closing opposing cars they would have taken a different approach with their strategies and insisted the faster cars went through.

It's all done bar the shouting now, hopefully with minimal effect on the remainder of the season.
Fingers crossed.

No matter how obviously true a statement you make here - and statements do not come any truer than "Ayrton Senna would have done exactly what Vettel did" - there is always some witless coward who will click the "disagree" button.
