F1 » Vettel: I messed up, I'm sorry

Sebastian Vettel: I owe an explanation to Mark and to the team and that's it. Everyone else obviously has the right to have their own opinions but for sure it is not a victory that I'm very proud of because it should have been Mark's.

Is this what F1 racing has come to? Second placed driver complaines about being overtaken and the third placed driver admits that the fourth places driver should have had third place.

Let's just hope that we don't reach the stage where teams start working with other teams to decide the outcome of the races.

Not exactly F1's finest moment.

vettel lover. actual pit facts are more reliable than suzy perry etc. have a look at the bulls steering wheel. there are two dials labeled MULTI. one on the left with the numbers 1 and 2. one on the right with numbers 1 to 0.
these are linked to the ecu and affect engine performance.

by the way, you have an unusual name when you are actually damning vettel!

"Seb today ignored the team, and Mark did not"

That's a bare faced lie. Both drivers ignored team orders and raced one another hard, and Mark lost out. THAT is what happened, not your silly fantasy about Mark graciously giving up position.

I don't think Vettel has lost any of his fans or neutral f1 fans. Its his haters who r in full force. Can't fault Seb's driving. Try to criticize him over anything else including made up non-issues like today's. Haters always criticize Seb for being on any side of teamorders and even obeying them. Seb is smart enough to ignore them.

As for people calling RBR to ban Seb or fire Seb, they will lose business if they will lose Seb. Mclaren will have Seb anyday @ any point of the season, inspite of whatever he does on track or off it as long as he delivers.

The same deranged mob which appeared out of nowhere to scream that Vettel had ignored yellow flags in Brazil is back, and they're angrier and more irrational than ever.

@richard, stop it!!! Vettel has admitted he knew exactly what the score was, he disobeyed team orders as was confirmed by Horner, Webber Marko and Vettel himself. F1 is a team sport and it requires all members of the team to play ball. I think that if Lewis had done this, your argument would be the exact opposite.

Whilst I don't entirely agree with team orders, they do have their place. It's only a few seasons since Webber and Vettel collided whilst racing hard in 1-2 position, which gave McLaren the race. Not what you want to happen in only the second race of the season...

Furthermore, it's not the fastest driver that wins but rather the fastest team - every 0.5s in the pit stop makes a difference.

Seb Vettel should not apologise for winning.
I find Vettel's this message "I am faster than him, move him out of the way" disrespectful towards his ar5e teammate but not his overtake.
