F1 » Vettel: I messed up, I'm sorry

Sebastian Vettel: I owe an explanation to Mark and to the team and that's it. Everyone else obviously has the right to have their own opinions but for sure it is not a victory that I'm very proud of because it should have been Mark's.

Now, the sequence of events makes me wonder when did Marck actually started cruising. He was only 4s ahead when he pitted, and it was not a foregone conclusion he would come out ahead.

Seb was charging down the straight on Mark's final pit stop, highly likely Mark would have seen him on his right as they were side by side. Seb was, in fact, slightly ahead on the outside. They grappled wheel to wheel thro' the first 5 corners for 2 consecutive laps, before Seb got decisively in front.

continue ....

If i were Seb, it would not have crossed by my at that time that Mark is on crusing mode cos it made no sense.

But if you did not watch the race and just read the comments and articles online, you would think that Mark was cruising ahead comfortably and Seb just sneaked out to steal his win.

Its very easy for Vettel to lord it over Webber when he has the complete backing of the Red Bull management. He can do no wrong in their eyes as he is their golden boy. It has to be said that he is usually faster than Webber but today should of been Webbers win. He deserved it and was leading upto the last pit stop, when team orders of come into effect. I feel sorry for Webber and Vettel has damaged his own reputation badly by acting like a spoilt brat. It would be interesting to see how he would fair with a more ruthless team mate like Alonso.

From Fake Charlie Whiting on twitter - Seb should have said "No, I'm not following orders, tell Mark we're racing". Instead, he left Mark with his eng turned down"

This would have been the only fair thing to do if he wanted a legit win. But because he is a douche, he took the win only because of extra mechanical help.

What an absolute sad shambles. At least he (Vettel) didnt deliberately take Webber out like Schumacher used to do with others in his days. Webber should be 'proud'!!!!
