So you have a certain number of engines per year. Both teams wound back the engines. Team orders to look after the cars....

If Vettle *had* to overtake why not do so on the straight for a risk free overtaking opportunity, but his opinion of himself is so high that he risked both team cars for his own ends. There was no one in contention for position except his own team mate.

The man has no honour.

I ADORE team orders. Vettel should have listened to the team. This is NOT the first time he has ignored team orders. One time his arrogance cost the team a free gear box change. This time it cost him a team mate that will NEVER help him this year to save his soul. And one that may run him into the infield. And to top it off he told a porkie when asked a simple question.

Vettel's teammate never helps him & always tries to run him in the field heck out of the track. Did u watch today's overtake or brazilian gp last year or turkey 2010?

re: "However, in the official post-event release issued by Red Bull Racing, the three-time F1 world champion had a change of heart and has now held his hands up and admitted he did know he wasn't meant to pass the sister car."

in s1's nwo plan (bike side), i have tendered a solution to this very problem. this doesnt have to be an issue in the future. the catch is it requires the powers that be to smarten up. hey, good luck with that.

Angelia... i personally believe that Horner and the boys were going to show Mark they would work with him. If they gave mark a break early in the year then by end of year Mark would greatfully help Vettel. Now Vettel will not get any help and possibly feel the wrath of a bent Aussie. Then tried to cover it with a lie. As I said many times. I adore team orders.

If this is the result of the brazil 2012 move, I can't stop praising Vettel's intelligience of disobeying teamorders.

angelina... there is NO intelligence in what he did. Horner even called him SILLY. And Vettel has said he messed up, f'd up and other quotes from Vettels own mouth. And you are saying he is smart. Seems you don't want to listen to the man who did it. He has single handedlly set the tone for the entire Red Bull team. Heads will be hanging for the rest of the year. I am sure Marko and Dietrich must be very proud. For sure when Vettel first lied to cover it. Proud i say.
