We all know what Button has achieved in a long career, the smallest number of wins by any of the so called top five. He had a crap car for most of the time until he was rescued from oblivion by Ross Brawn. Brawn provided a superior car for the first part of 2009 and Button duly made good use of it. Once everyone else caught up he faded away back to his old self. Since then he has driven for Mclaren and has aquitted himself well against Hamilton but he has'nt dominated like you need to to win most championships. Just how likely is it Bob that Button will win another championship no matter what he has achieved at Mclaren. I would love him to do it but I just can't see where it is going to come from given the things I pointed out in my first post. It is of course possible but it is about as likely as you Bob staying on your perch and I would'nt give very good odds on that.

Right guys the way the most of you are going on is like he shouldn't aspire to win and just give up because the car is a dog. You listen to any driver and if they a bad car they don't throw the season away after 2 races. Yes two races!

Do you in this case think all driver should have this attitude and just give up at the first hurdle?

Haha! Possibly the greatest display of nutjob multi posting I've ever seen.

@abdullah from Bahrain - "Unless he becomes a regular podium finisher from china on, he can forget about the championship with his once in a blue moon wins and usual non podium finishes".

Podium head to head Button v Lewis for the past four years -

2009 - 9 / 5
2010 - 7 / 9
2011 - 12 / 6
2012 - 6 / 7

Ummmm....! 'Usual non-podium finishes'? Which driver were you referring to?

This type of questions is meaningless ... Like what do you expect him to say ?? ... Every driver driving for the top teams will say the same thing ...

@oldtimer and Pole Position

If we are going to use recent results (since Button has been in a car capable) as a barometer of how likely a driver is to get another WDC, who does that point to being most likely to do so?

Button who has finished 1st, 5th, 2nd, 5th
or
Hamilton who has finished 5th, 4th, 5th, 4th

??????????????????????????????????

bob

And what about when Hamilton was in a car capable in 2007 and 2008? 2nd and 1st !

The BAR was probably a capable car also just that Button couldnt get the most out of it as it didnt have a massive advantage like the Brawn did.
