F1 » Massa on cusp of inflicting new low on Alonso

The qualifying 'battle' between Ferrari team-mate Felipe Massa and Fernando Alonso will be one of the things to watch in Shanghai next weekend.

Felipe is good in quali, but he is not as good as Fernando is in race trim. He is much beter than before, and can get podiums, and I guess even a win if he continues at this rate, but at the end of the season Fernando is the man who will score consistently enough and lead them in the title race.

"the Spaniard's second lap exit at Sepang left Massa as Ferrari's only runner, but the Brazilian was unable to convert a front row start into anything more than fifth place"

I read your post and can't spot anything to do with the subject. Did you run out of batteries, or ideas?

Nice to see Massa doing well but regardless of what he does, Alonso is signed long term and he is not. Ferrari may or may not replace him for 2014 but if they were smart they should put an up and coming talent like Bianchi or Hulkenberg in the seat next year or they may see one of them possibly get snapped up by Red Bull to replace Webber.

The truth is, Alonso makes a lot more money than Massa at Ferrari. So, if Massa wins the championship, or maybe just finishes ahead of Alonso, Montezemolo may very well lose his job over the millions waisted with FA.

The mere fact that Massa's recent qualifying results are evoked is indeed because of Alonso's huge dominance over his team mate if anyone cares to review last year's tally.

Bit of stirring by the media, isn't it ?

BTW, I'd love to see Felipe get a win this season.
