The qualifying 'battle' between Ferrari team-mate Felipe Massa and Fernando Alonso will be one of the things to watch in Shanghai next weekend.

Australia showed the Fernando is still very much the No. 1 driver. If they let Massa pit earlier (normal procedure front running car) he would have easily beaten Fernando.
Massa wasn't to happy about it listening to team radio, but really what did he expect after his results last year.

If Massa was a bit more intelligent he would realize if he starts to make a power play or raise hell in the team he will be shipped so far away from Ferrari the locals don't even know what a car is! He is there by the grace of Alonzo, don't blow it!

equator180, I totally agree with u. Massa's only existence his year at Ferrari is because he has Alonso's support. The 4-5 good races Massa did last year would not have justitfied Ferrari to keep him after over 2.6 years of bad driving...Massa should show his gratitude and not try to challenge Alonso for preference within Ferrari. Honestly, if it wasn't for Alonso, Ferrari would not have been able to challenge for the WDC in 2010 and 2012. It was the driver and no the car.

I am sure that Alonso is happy with Massa's efforts. I think Alonso is wanting a championship for Ferrari over a WDC. A strong Massa is needed for that. I am sure FA is unfazed.

All Massa needs to ensure is that there is Romain / Hamilton between him and Alonso. I know he would prefer Romain to do a thorough Job :) Then Massa can pretty much run his own race. He needs to qualify not one spot but two or three ahead of his team mate .If he pulls a gap at that point, he can pretty much run and hide from Alonso.

Richard.. i'm not to sure about that. He said his tires were still ok, but i doubt ferrari told him that if he would come in he could jump some of his opponents. That info is restricted to teamleader, i heard a snippet of radio after the stops where massa asked how alonso could come out so far ahead. Focus on your race felippe... was the anwser. Not that it really matters, being no.2 for several seasons has its reasons.

Personally I could care less what Ferrari wins, team that's the important factor. As long as the cars Scarlet that's all that matters. Sorry Ferlonso, but Fermassa's beating you. WOW that sounds weird. lol
