Lewis Hamilton won a WDC and finished runner up too.
Since then RBR have held a far superior car - fact.
Alonso has out driven LH and JB did during a single season when LH's head disappeared up his own backside.
The boy is back and whilst he has not beat Nico as yet in a car that Nico has been driving for a year btw, we shall see!
I hope LH can find more and maintain a challenge beyond RBR and Alonso.
I agree that Lotus may not have the money to keep Kimi there but if they do - marvellous!

Hamilton is more like the classic british underachiever bigged up by the british hype machinery to cash in on the hype via media, internet exposure, advertisement, .... There are other good examples like Andy Murray, Wayne Rooney or David Hayes out there. Jackie Stewart was the last Brit to win multiple WDC, since then all who followed were one hit wonders. Hamilton got his title 5 years ago, thats it for him as far as F1 titles are concerned. With equal treatment and a backbone Rosberg might beat him, too bad we will never find out.

@ Zelda

The far superior car for Vettel line is just a Hamilton fanboy excuse. So far Hamilton enjoyed cars in which he could challenge for the title in 5 out of 6 years. Vettel had 5 full seasons and in 4 of them could challenge. In 2010 and 2011 Red Bull was fastest, in 2007, 2008 and 2012 McLaren was fastest. Vettel and Alonso werent in top teams when Hamilton won his only title and Vettel is 3 years younger, he wont just dissapear for the Hammy Show to finally happen.

"Jackie Stewart was the last Brit to win multiple WDC, since then all who followed were one hit wonders" !!!

apart from LH, didn't all the other brit drivers leave the teams they won the titles with so never got a chance to defend the championship, not necessarily of their own choice either, to my mind that makes them one hit wonders BUT not through their own making ?!!! you seem to have implied it's cos they weren't good enough to do it again

What is wrong with "Sir Jackie?" This guy is an idiot. Any time he opens his mouth he makes a fool of himself. I don't remember anything he says making sense. And all his "predictions" have not come true over the years. But he continues on, and tries to be the soothsayer he has always wanted to be.
Jackie, you should be ashamed for the way you have belittled Nico.

Button could have followed up on his Brawn title in the last three years with McLaren, Mansell could have won before his title in the early ninetees and Damon Hill was for 4 successive years in the fastest car. Of course they could all be 2-3 times champions but they arent.

sir jackie also claimed that di resta has a championship in him. in 2003, during martin brundles grid walk for the australian gp he did suggest that the track would dry almost immediately at the start, he got that one right

Ham's record and pole win rate is astonishing and was equal to the late great JC before Mac built a dog! All that in his first two years!. Only Vettel has a better score rate than him (after four years) in the current grid and he has had a car advantage in each and every one of the last four years. Even when it looked like it was a little on the back foot at a couple of circuits over the last year or so mac managed to screw it up by reliability issues and crap strategy or pit stops. Vettel has never suffered, not even once, a car disadvantage. And please don't mention Torro Rosso which was a Red Bull in all but name at that time just with a different engine. No one on the grid other than Vettel
