F1 » F1 China 2013: I'd probably do same again, says Vettel

Sebastian Vettel: I think I'm the kind of guy that respects team decisions but on the other hand Mark is not the one that deserved it [the victory] at the time.

Good going seb , so brave of you to say mark did not help you before and u were correct to race. remember vettel has not slowed down before on countless time even when he was leading on gp on repeated requests from his team.

This site is filled with so much hypocrites.
If mark had said a similar thing all would have said "wooow what a straight forward guy, did u see how angry he looked at vettel in the podium woooow".
if vettel does the same thing "what a arrogant brat, he is a cheat, he lies etc".

The only people criticizing SV for any "wrong doing" are those who either dont like him or Idolize MV.

2 points here,

If you dont like SV, nothing he does will please you so deal with it.

If you idolize MV, you need to deal with the fact that SV is the No1 driver in the team (acknowledged or not by the team) and he has 3 WC to back his "claim"...what does MW have, a hand full of wins in a decade of racing...

All of you, just grow up.

You are missing the point. Allow me to elaborate. You are stating the obvious and completely missing the point in the process. Everybody and his dog knows that Vettel is a faster driver than Webber, that Vettel is favoured by Horner and Marko and others, that Webber is the older driver and approaching the end of his career, that Vettel is the 3-times WDC going for Schumi's record, etc. So...who has more to lose with all this in-fighting? Vettel or Webber?

Think carefully before you answer......

Actually Dave, you are wrong on both counts in that first patronising sentence you wrote. And I have another theory:

I think Vettel was spooked by Alonso last year. He wasn't expecting such a ferocious battle to the very last race - and when he spun in Brazil, he must have thought that his title was gone. So, this year, he has decided to win every point possible, no matter what it takes. He has taken the short-sighted view by attacking his teammate, forgetting that it is the same teammate he may need when he faces another battle with Alonso! And now that DM has decreed that there will be NO team orders in Red Bull, no matter what, he is in a worse place to fight Alonso now, who has the full backing of Ferrari as number 1.

Do you get it now, Dave?

@ Mark
just watched the Turkey crash,
looks like a racing incident to me, Vettel was faster, Webber pushed him to the outside, Vettel got his nose in front and I would say did move to the right a little quickly.

As Webber - I would say I was clean but yes I was keeping him in the dirt, once Vettels car was in front of mine I must concede the fact that I'm behind the racer now and must make sure I don't crash. (I will say Webber was out of the racing line as he was keeping Vettel in the dirt and could have started moving back into it a little sooner once he knew he lost his position)

As Vettel - I would say I was Faster, Webber was blocking, I got my car in front and wanted to get back onto the racing line. (I may have made the move to the right a little sharper/sooner then I should have) but since I'm now leading the race those who are following must give me the right of way)

I agree with Tealeaf's english speaking fans comment. Poor old Lulu Hamilton and Whining Webber fraternity.
Has everyone forgotten about Webber's antics against Vettel last year in Brazil when he was going for the championship? Vettel has world 3 titles, Webs none..................that says it all. So let them race and may the best guy win !!!

@ Mark cont...
Also, I'm not sure but it seems this was still early in the championship so neither driver was a clear favorite in the points race.

I would say each driver played his part in causing the crash, was one clearly in the right and one clearly in the wrong, for me it very hard to say.

As TeamRB sure I'm upset, but this is racing and I must do my best to try and see it as to drivers racing for first place........as it should be, and be very happy that they were both in the car I design/build fighting for 1st and 2nd. Talk to the drivers ask them to try and be a little smarter/cleaner next time, but above all, keep racing this hard.

artist. i get into a lot of strife from the antipodes for pointing this out....
webber said, on tv (top gear, i think it was, and it is in his book.....he knew seb was there, he knew seb was faster, but he wasnt going to make things easy for him.
so seb was maybe a bit impetuous but expected webber to leave the gap, (which he didnt), so there was equal blame on both sides, possibly a little more on webbers side, as he didnt want to let this young "upstart" beat him.
