"Red Bull team principal Christian Horner says Sebastian Vettel's decision to ignore team orders in Malaysia has not undermined his authority."

It did not.

What undermined Horner's authority was Mateschitz saying "No team orders on my team".

“They (the drivers) took things into their own hands” and in the process totally disobeyed/ignored/undermined his order/authority and he thinks it was healthy!.
Christian Edward Johnston Horner can move on as much as he likes but he will go down in the Formula one history books as having been Red Bull Racing team principal without the authority to manage the team.

"he will go down in the Formula one history books as having been Red Bull Racing team principal without the authority to manage the team.'

What exactly would you suggest he do? Give an ultimatum to Mateschitz - "Butt out and let me run things my way"?

"The problem is Vettel doesn't respect Honer as Team Boss."

Why is that "the problem"? Why wasn't it a problem all the times that Webber did not respect Horner as Team Boss?

Look - a Vettel hater being honest for a change! Just drop all the half-assed attempts to look reasonable and say it proud and say it loud - "I hate Vettel because he's GERMAN!"

John, I suggest he go look for a pair of nuts the size of Ross Brawn, if he will manage that he will be able to say to his boss (WHILE I AM SITTING AT THE PIT WALL DURING A RACE I AM THE ONE IN CHARGE AND SO I AM THE ONE THAT DECIDE THINGS AND GIVES ORDERS AS SEEN FIT AT THE TIME.

The management structure at Red Bull is very different from that at Mercedes. I'm talking about the companies Red Bull and Mercedes, not the racing teams. This has a huge impact on the management structure of the racing teams as well though.

The CEO of Mercedes-Benz does not give orders to Ross Brawn, while the CEO of RB does give orders to Horner.

Would like to recount what it means to poses a pair of big nuts.
At the barichello/Schumacher debacle it was Jean Todd who ordered Ross Brawn to instruct Barichello to let Schumacher past, Ross Brawn turned to his Boss and said “WRITE THAT DOWN AND SIGN IT.
And it was only after Todd did that that Brawn did so. .
