Red Bull's Mark Webber will have to start from the back of the grid after being penalised for running out of fuel in the second round of qualifying.

While I don't think this was deliberate it seems strange that it should happen in the next race. We know and Webber knows where he stands in this team so it should come as no surprise. While Redbull will say their is no favoritism its pretty easy to ensure that Vettel gets all upgrades first and gets the first choce of tyre and priority in pitstops etc. Vettel is the chosen one and Webber has to make up his own mind on how he handles it.

oldtimer. now tell me... if the team were so intent on sabotaging webber, why did they try so hard to let him win in sepang? oh, i get it, it was all part of their cunning plan!!!!!!!

@rob01 3 races, one KERS problem only at the start of the race, like many times before, always when he started close to Vettel, and 2 miscalculations in qualifying that costed him badly. Do you think Webber is thinking "oh well, it's only bad luck"? I don't think he's that stupid.

Also, it's not like these things come suddenly out of nowhere. Anyone who follows F1 regularly for the last 3 years could have predicted what's happening right now.

@richard they tried so hard to let Webber win in Sepand that Webber was told to use an engine map to save fuel and Vettel doesn't remember to have heard anything from his team about staying in p2.

Anyway, Redbull have told Webber a lot of times to stay calm behind Vettel and Vettel will need his help for sure later in the championship, that's why they probably they would have preferred Webber to win that race, but it's not like they made a big effort to prevent the battle.

Just stop & think why this is being done to Mark?
He will not be told what to do by a kid with cradle marks still on his backside so he has to go!
Big question we should be asking is - who is hanging around waiting for a seat in Toro Rosso when the other Aussie is given Mark's drive????????

stir the pot.... it is obvious red bull wants Webber out so they sabotaged his car... now you watch his tires will fail a some point in the race and he will have to retire.

amg. still talking bunkum!
if they wanted webber to help seb (probably wont need it) why on earth would they sabotage his car? also, webber has never helped seb before, so is hardly likely to change the habit of a lifetime.
webber is just one of those drivers who finds that luck rarely goes his way. remember chris amon? always said to be the unluckiest driver in the history of f1. and absolutely never any rubbish about sabotage, preferences etc.
