Mark is in a tough place, he cannot show his pace to other teams, his age stands against him to other F1 teams, nobody wants to risk a new coming of Rubinho. I wish mark the best, not sure that the profile of WEC will be enough, but I am sure Porsche will be able to use him as a fantastic marketing tool. Plus he has LeMans pedigree all be it a little airbourne

Nice post Dr - I almost thought it might actually be you, except you're probably a bit too busy to toss about on a mad forum!! The issue I see with Webber in the WEC is you need reliabilty in spades and he seems to repel good luck!

I suppose Porsche had to buy out Webber's contract with Ferrari which he signed last year. And they'd better make sure he doesn't bring any of those saboteur RBR mechanics with him.

To see how this develops, watch how good Ricciardo
will suddenly start to become, as Torro Rosso get some more consistent results as the year progresses.
Mark will have a decent drive for next year, whatever happens......

Love to see him in IndyCar! Has a great personality and charisma that I feel would be more welcome in the IndyCar paddock and hopefully can show his great racecraft in a championship that he could win... He is never going to be F1 Champion... Next best thing in single seaters? IndyCar...

Think this article might be a bit out of date.. 1-day ago.. search online reports 'Webber signs five-year deal with Porsche' --I too was hoping MW would go to IndyCar as he said he'd always wanted to do the Indy 500 -- but maybe after his Porsche stint .. (or a 1-off during) however, older drivers can still thrive in IndyCar and Mark gets to resuscitate his rep in a real team first, after Redbull has hampered him, and made him look bad for 3 years. He can come to IndyCar as a (likely) Le Mans winner that would be cool-- as Porsche competes to win and not just make up the numbers.
