An early start on a new rules package is what launched Brawn GP's Cinderella-story success in 2009. Doubtless they are hoping for a repeat of that formula.
Remains to be seen how siphoning off development resources will affect this year, which looks to be their best since that title season.

So if Mercedes do pull of a Brawn and put together a beast of a car and Hamilton uses it to win the WDC, I guess everyone who has written off Buttons WDC will do the same to Hamilton?

I doubt it. All we'll hear is how amazing Hamilton is.

Typical one eyed fanboys.

What do you get from constantly throwing insults at people like a stubborn little child? Grow up kid. It's getting tiring going in to every topic and seeing your repetitive spiteful comments flooding the comments section.

More on topic, I don't think Mercedes should throw away this season already. If they can work on the tyre wear issue and keep upgrades coming they could be in with a shot of having a high finish. The car is fast at the moment, the way it handles it's tyres is hindering it.

The issue with the 2009 season was that, the Brawn GP was so fast almost 2 seconds fast, and Button enjoyed his time in the sun, but when teams caught up half way through the season then Button struggled, but surprisingly Ruben Barrichello still won 2 races in Valencia and Monza and got pole in Brazil. This shows that unless Button's car has a massive advantage he won do jack! Like I said Ruben still took the challenge to other teams when it was a level playing field.
