There is another simple reason why Vettel may easily defend his title this year (provided Newey and his guys keep working their magic on the car). That reason is that the more challengers there are, the more it favours Vettel. The "chasing" pack of Kimi, Alonso and Lewis will keep taking points and race wins off each other. It will become worse if Rosberg, Grosjean, Jenson and Checo also join the party. It will be great for us fans, but probably work in Vettel's favour.

Points scoring consistency will be key this year...as ever...

at the moment on very good days for Vettels challengers Alonso (x2), Raikkonen (2) and Hamilton (1) seem the only ones who can beat Vettel, on poor days Alonso has finished 8th, Raikkinen 7th and Hamilton fifth (2). Along with poor Mark Webber who at the moment cant beat Vettel even when the team try to hand it to him on a plate.

One former RB engineer wrote that Seb is currently the best developer in F1. He helps make the car better. Like Senna, he is extremely hard working and totally dedicated to improving his car and race craft when others indulge in the high life and other pleasures.

He said Seb helped improve the Toro Rosso and made it better than the better funded RB in 2008. RB signed him up immediately after than season and got him work with the engineers on the 2009 car.

He said that he "worked around the braking system vettel had investigated and asked to be trialled on the car. It brought approx .1 seconds a lap on most tracks that require high downforce, less on low downforce tracks (less braking)"

"He also has leant webber his braking system that he choose after touring the world and visiting 11 brake manufacturers (as this is what he does in his off time - tours the world checking out car part manufacturers to get a better understanding of new and developing technology"

"Vettel understand aerodynamics so can help give feedback in this area as he is currently studying an aerodynamics degree on the side so he can further his skills in development for future years."
