Button on 16M per year ahead of Kimi and Vettel etc...
What a waste of money if theyve got that sort of money to spend at least go for a fast driver who can develop a car.

a lot of these figures just do not hold water, as the contracts vary lot. for instance, vettel is rewarded for his results so his true pay is well over 20m. and then there is no recognition given to those who are actually paying for their drive only the amounts kept for their "living expenses" are shown. etc etc. and as the article points out, a number of drivers who are on fixed contracts, show reduction on previous years, which presumably cannot, or has not happened.

Remember Kimi is on a performance pay scale, he makes a lot more when he wins. Remember they had trouble paying him because he did so much better than they thought! I don't know about Vettel ect. but I know hes making more somewhere, you win one title and money finds its way, but three.

The salaries of the top 12 borders on the ridiculous, while the top 7 is a bit insane, and the top 3 completely ludicrous. Is the world in such short supply of driving talent that this is necessary? Seriously? We're not talking about filling giant field team rosters here, we are talking about 22 individuals out of millions already in motorsports. This is one side of the sport that does nothing for me at all.

kimi is paid a base plus dollars per points earned. its well up this chart. vettel has win incentives. rumored to be a million per win. and i am sure others have similar clauses.
