@Paul Charlton

Why the hell would they have wanted to retain Hamilton? The last time McLaren had a bad car Hamilton was their number 1 driver and it took him 10 races to get it on the podium.

I'm so sick to death of all the Button haters telling us all how bad Button is doing and how great Hamilton would do in this years car. Despite the actual evidence that shows Hamilton is hopeless in a bad car.

But that's OK fanboys, you keep telling everyone that Hamilton can win even in a bad car - we'll just forget the actual facts that prove the opposite!

The Ferrari drivers have a pay-cut by 10 milion each. Are them using this money for developing their 2014 challenger? 20 millions are a lot of money. Who knows. McLaren too are saving some money now, with Hamilton at Mercedes.Webber has a very good salary too, comparative to Vettel's one, if you consider their variety of succes, Webber must feel very estimated by Red Bull.

Lewis got 3rd at the Australia GP in 2009, whether he was disqualified or not is irrelevant....

I know your angry about Lewis pay package but hey live with it.

Sponsors not included people. I know for a fact that Alonso get's a huge pay from Santander for example.
The 20 mil from Ferrari alone not included.

firestorm. first of all, a lot of these figures are speculation , and bear no relationship to what a driver actually earns.
secondly, flip is on a year to year contract and in light of current economic climate, it is understandable that he would be on a lower "salary". but as for ferdi, he is on a long term contract, and there would be NO reduction, thus proving that figures are haywire!

button is on third year of a three year fixed contract, signed when he was wdc, so it is unsurprising that he is still showing at a good figure. not sure what he will get next year, though.

whilst these figures are obscene, nobody knows what any driver earns, other than their respective taxmen. so little point in getting worked up over them.
