@Richard

You said: "most reputable commentators equate nico and lulu..." what an empty affirmation. what don't you provide the name of one or two of those so-called "reputable commentators". Looks like you have to convince Rosberg himself that he's as good as Hamilton. And go ask other worthy champs like Vettel or Alonso what their opinions on Hamilton's skills are.
I can also sit in front of my computer and write "most reputable commentators believe Perez equate Button, therefore he shouldn't earn 10 times less money than Button"

ben. before you make a total fool of yourself, go and look at other sites! just yesterday, berger was equating the two, but then again, I suppose you will dismiss Gerhard as well!

rob. the oil industry is worth billions. do you really make millions yourself?

If driver costs were restricted, the teams would not spend as much , Bernie would not need to give them as much, gp organisers would not have to pay as much, and we all would have reduced entrance costs to a gp.

rallying is far more dangerous than current f1, yet drivers such as loeb are paid minute fractions of what the f1 drivers are paid. so facinanger is not thecriteria for high salaries.

Ben, Richard was quoting Berger, before one disagrees with a man the calibre of Berger one has to take into consideration his direct experience.
Richard like most experienced posters on this forum can calculate with easy the difference between Berger's experience and that of an unknown poster following the sports and most probably blinded by his support to a driver.
I for one fully understand your opinion as to what the experienced Berger said.

A few suprising facts here plus add in the cash they have from sponsorship and hey it's not a bad life. Sure their not scratching down the back of the sofa to pay the gas bill. Very valid arguments for and against the pay but not one of on here if we had the talent some of the top drivers have would turn the cash down. Good luck to em, make it while you can

If the teams are stupid enough to pay these salaries, then the drivers are going to take it. If the teams said o.k. I'll only pay 200k what could the drivers do? There would still be a lot of talented drivers willing to race F1 for that salary. even if one or two teams offered the millions there would only be two seats.... Anyway, if the drivers are paid that much, think of the salaries of the team managers.....
