F1 » Spanish Grand Prix 2013: Alonso wears down the opposition in Barcelona

Fernando Alonso proved the master of the most difficult tyre-eating race so far in 2013, with Kimi Raikkonen in second managing to stop Barcelona from delivering a Ferrari 1-2.

Terrible race, what a joke Formula 1 has become. Pirelli should be banned from the sport forever.

Thankfully there's Indycar for those open-wheel fans who want to see some REAL RACING, no this tire conservation crap.

100% agree with RZ, this "motorsport" has become so silly over the last few years, look at those idiots driving around on a track with rubber laying around, that is just pathetic!

Everybody would win today with a car like Ferrari I can guarantee you that, still Massa lost second place to Raikkonen...

In my opinion at this time there isnt a single world class driver in the field ( Alonso and Vettel close, but still not enough ).

Pirelli is supposed to *deliver* as per the FIA regulations for this year. So blame FIA's Bernie not tyre company. Pirelli is a very competitive manufacturer, ask Bridgestone or Michelin

FA did a great race. Good to see Massa on podium too. And wow, Kimi already proved as 'Mr. Consistent' and I think he's quite close to beating Shumi points record (most races ending up with points)?

Over all, great result for contenders and closed the gap with Vettel. Bad luck to Mark and Ham!

Wow that was a rather old school Catalunya race. It felt like the nineties...What a difference a year makes. And still there were some overtakings, the younger people here don't remember how it used to be.

And yeah, Pirelli could take tweaks some notches back. In a way with a durable tyre, we know there wouldn't be any racing since the faster in front would just increase their advantage but I think that we're reaching the limit of this tyre policy even if it can make races interesting with the right balance.

Total SNOOZFEST... Only the first half of lap one was interesting! Lets all baby our tires until the end of the race. 22 cars all running their own race as calculated before the start.

Total Joke!
