F1 » Raikkonen: 'I drove to the maximum'

A typically low-key Kimi Raikkonen was hardly celebrating after claiming second place in Spain, suggesting instead that finishing ahead of Sebastian Vettel was the most important thing.

I see a disconnect. Kimi wants to win, Boulier is very happy with second. Lotus team has lesser aspirations than what Kimi would hope for. If they keep displaying that attitude, Kimi will be in red bull.

It looks to me like a deja vu for Kimi. He is having similar results as in the 2003 formula 1 season when he was driving for McLaren-Mercedes. Then he had Ferrari and Williams-BMW winning many races and looking very fast but with alternative strategies he managed to finish many races on second place and taking the title fight to the wire. Now he had Ferrari again with Red Bull winning many races but always it looks that he is their closest rival from race to race, like in 2003. Maybe Kimi will got it one better than ten years ago and will win the drivers title.
