F1 » Honda confirms F1 return


Speculation has been rife for several months, but Honda has now confirmed that it will be returning to F1....

This is great news. I hope Honda really up the game when they show up. Maybe the other team will be Williams? While I have high hopes for Honda, I believe that areo is still the key since really all engines are frozen after initial run, and they're pretty close in power. I bet even if you stuck an old cosworth in the back of the RBR it would still be taking home trophies.

No. The aero potential you can achieve is somewhat dicatated by the engine as well as other parameters that influence lap times. A RBR Cosworth would still be a better car than say a Caterham Renault though.

A good engine doesn't necessarily make a fast car. After all if you bolt the Renault engine on a scaffolding, you won't win the championship but you need one to consistently challenge at the highest level when the car is good.

My Friend is the japanese lady who translate first part and final closing comments of the speach, she not translate Whitmash part she translate jp to eng only. CEO of Honda to ENG

She knew of this assignemnt on Tuesday and then had 1 day to practice the ststement before the live broadcast.

She work for Honda in the past with translation for Honda and Asimo projects.

This was very swift choice to make press conference.

Love the fact Honda is returning, but hate the fact that the reason is only because of F1 deciding to use silly 6 cylinder lawn mower engines. Sure wish they would have let the manufacturers decide their own engine configurations. I am going to hate this next car era, can't wait until it is over with and they go back to real engines again.
