But will they convert it into a race win ? So many things can happen and it should be possible to counter the Merc train.

There can be a safety car occurrence that reshuffles the cards, some drivers may opt to pit at the end of the first lap other may succeed in undercutting the Mercedes at the pit stops.

Maybe some teams will do a one stop if the silver arrows can't and others starting beyond the first rows will begin with the other compound.

In the end, if the Brawn boys really suffer on the tyre front compared to their opponents they simply may be vulnerable for overtaking even in Monaco.

“Mercedes has had positive feedback from the latest upgrade designed to control its tyre wear problem”.
So the problem was the car design and not the tyres.
Now the question is, why the complaining they did about the tyres?

the tires still suck, but now they can manage them better, because they are loading them better.

those cars would be a lot faster on Bridgestones of past, please stop pretending.

So why are they complaining? because the tires are exploding during races, going off the cliff, forcing people to drive slower, accept if you were in a slow car to start off with (Ferrari).

But each track is different, requiring a different 'program' and philosophy, the car needs to be able to adapt, and one race, which is lighter on the tires because of low speed turns, less fuel/power, this track is hardly representative, but easily won by a Merc if it can save enough pace to keep from being jumped in the pits.

According to Brawn they did some improvements to the car and now it is making better use of the tyres, all this while the tyres are still the same.
And some people from on here pretending to be F1 followers sometimes blame the car balance and sometimes the tyres.

Guess what though, they are still tires designed to limit outright performance 107.

These tires are not made for racing, they are tires designed to hold teams like Red Bull back because Ferrari cant find any more performance out of their aero department.

Yes they are control tyres as per the FIA wishes, but Gus what, you can't seem to be able to keep to a subject which you have chosen to dive in head first.
The subject was, changes to the car has improved its use of the tyres, so it was the car and not the tyre, why was the complaining about the tyres then?
