F1 » HAVE YOUR SAY: How should FIA deal with Mercedes test row?

The fall-out from Sunday's news that Mercedes and Pirelli had conducted three days of testing in Barcelona has now come to rest with the FIA, but how should the governing body react?

The MOB is out. FIA is a large part of this mishap. Teams have been outraged for many years in F1. It was far far worse under Max. Anyone thinking there will be a ban is off their rocker.

This is a farce and should be dealt with by the FIA.
1. Allow all front running teams the same test with their 2013 chassis.
2.Either a 3 race ban for Merc or 1/2 points taken away up to this point in the season..

Merc gets private tire test, gets poles, wins race..Id say the tire test helped quite a bit.

I think this is just another fast . FIA knew what was going on , they had some one from FIA at the test . The teams knew but some did not have the resources to do the test with Pirelli . This test was not hidden , how does a test take place with out the press being all over the place . What we are trying to say is that the press went to bed not possible .FIA is just trying to save face , but they new of the test .They will not have any sanctions , only if they are embarrest

What Mercedes have learnt will benefit them for the rest of the season and also for the development of the 2014 car. A more sever punishment is needed.

I'd say teams should impeach Fia, since it made them sign a concorde agreement and failed to abide with their own rules and regulations. If anyone has failed here It is Fia in big time. Pirelli should reverse to Last years tyres, so no team has unfair advantages. Mercs should be banned For 3 races(= 1000KM). Fia should sue Lauda for predicting an outcome of an ongoing investigation. But what am I thinking???? This is Formula 1 after all, Chinese baby formulas have more credibility than this big circus.

what merc did could have a serious effect on the wdc and wcc, by denying points to other teams and drivers. the last time that there was deliberate cheating (BAR Honda) the team was banned for the rest of the season. and then there was schumi who was eliminated from the seasons result, and even macca had a large fine and removal of priviledges.
the fairest penalty for other teams is to suspend them for the rest of the season, and move them to the bottom of the money ladder.
