Lewis Hamilton has said that his apparent lack of pace is of more concern to him than Mercedes' run-in with the FIA over tyre testing.

westy. just because an anonymous poster calls himself an engineer, does not mean much. and he resorts to be scathing about others who have more knowledge than himself.
not that it is any of his business, but I at least have raced and rallied, so I do have a smidgin of knowledge. as far as lulu and his braking "problems", he keeps locking the fronts, and in fact had to be told to alter his brake balance in the race before last. brakes differ on most cars, but only by a minimal amount. what with testing and all the practice sessions , plus the races, lulu has had ample time to adjust to any very slight difference in feel. he had used bembos in macca and then changed last year to ci discs. did you ever hear him complaining about the brembos in macca? no! as far as I can ascertain, he won his wdc using brembos!

as for the steering rack, most, if not all the f1 cars have linear racks, but kimi wanted one which was quicker. this he got

maybe I will call myself "chief engineer" and

Rob, thanks a lot.
Engineer, be assured that contrary to your self- assumed and pompous suppositions (technicalities wise) there are people on Crash that although not engineers by profession but as a result of their direct and firsthand experience they fully understand many a system on a road or racing car and in most cases better than an engineer. A real engineer, one with a solid and real life experience will understand and automatically compensate when such people with real racing car experience but not being engineers do not express themselves with the proper and correct technical terms, on the other hand real and practicing engineers will instantly notice the poor calibre of someone trying to force on others an engineering capability which is really no more than amateurish.

Regardless of what (the engineer) said I stand with what I said (the information I have) re the use of braking systems as used by Mercedes and mclaren.
The following is officially from Brembo, For its fourth (2013) F1 season Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 team has once again chosen Brembo as its partner in braking developments.
Technically speaking what Mercedes is trying to do to help Lulu with his aggressive way of using the brakes is to experiment with different sizes (piston diameter) of the master cylinder.
But it could be that his real problem is not the brakes, FRIC system, aggressive driving neither pussycat it could well be Briscoe this time!

sunny. Briscoe???? I presume you are referring to roscoe? but I think the problem is deeper. lulu himself says he "has to get s*** out of his mind." I wonder what is troubling him this time?

re our engineer, I have a feeling that he was here about two years ago, claiming certain things, but was shown up and disappeared. remember the kers debate etc?
