Since most of the batches tested were 2014 tyres and merc didn,t know which tyre was which then i don,t see a lot of advantage and as button and webber have both stated merc would have got no advantage at monaco im thinking they know a lot more than the ones on here saying they would have got advantage lol the diff is they are the real deal and know what the are talking about

the following people definitely HAD to know that in season testing with current cars & drivers is agaist the rules:
Paul Hembery
Ross Brawn (& other Merc team principles)
Rosberg & Hamilton
For the Merc team & the drivers to plead innocence stinks to high heaven

kiwi. if merc bring a car in to change the tyres, do you honestly believe that the difference would not be noticed? of course merc would know what was eng tested, otherwise why would they even attend a test? every small change would be noted by both Pirelli and merc. apart from that, every lap running on older tyres for comparison purposes, would be adding to mercs knowledge of such tyres. that is why in season testing is disallowed. so merc had invaluable additional knowledge of the old tyres (for Monaco) and also knowledge of the new tyres for montreal on.
if they did not want to gain advantage, they would not have had lulu and nico driving and "feeling" the new tyres. you cannot UNLEARN info!

Crap tyres, no V8 next year, F1 is becoming less appealing, drivers driving to the tyre limitation not the car, very poor season. Have been an F1 fan for over 20 years but that is coming to a end if it continues in this manor.

It's not about what Pirelli does now or in future. I would like a immediate solution for future races that wouldn't affect the championship. Merc would be racing upto British GP without any penalties with added advantages. No matter what penalties they get or not the other teams are cheated. Fia moves in tour de france pace. If rules are only for the books to obey, let other teams do in season testing as well, or bring 2012 tyres back.
