A sixth win in eight years at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve may not be likely, but McLaren's Sam Michael insists that the team is continuing to make progress with its MP4-28.

Sam Michaels... With his always look at the positives attitude, he always feels things are OK. He talks about McLaren's record in Canada, not "our" record. If he took some of the blame for himself, perhaps he'd move his butt a bit more. He's proven time and again he knows how to make a team loose!

The fact that progress is so slow suggests that they don't really know whwt is wrong. I can't see this car ever being
competitive and I would guess there will be no podiums for Mclaren this year. Not sure whether it will be their worst year on record but no doubt someone will fill me in on the minutery.

whitew. funny! lulu couldn't do much with the car even when it was competitive. there is a fundamental aero problem with the macca (not buttons fault!) and car is currently being tested at Toyota wind tunnel to try and find a solution.

They are making progress but so are the others. I can't see them being up the front any time soon at this rate. At least if they had used the 2012 car as their base for this year they would be competitive than they are now.

"Some of the problem with McLaren is that Button is absolutely rubbish at setting up the car. Lewis would have had the car competitive by now."

The last time McLaren had an bad car it was 2009 and Hamilton was their driver.

At round 7 in 2009 Hamilton Qualified 16th and finished the race in 13th! During the race he got on the radio to tell the team how bad the car was and that if they wanted to win races they needed to build him a new car.

At round 8 he finished 16th!

At round 9 he finished 18th!

So PLEASE, spare us the crap that Hamilton is the setup master and would have the car sorted by now, because historical FACTS show us that to be nothing but ********!
