Richard, I don't think Perez was paying for crash and destroying other drivers' race too.
You should know why McLaren peoples are very supportive to Perez because they are expecting money from Carlos Slim.
I bet, McLaren will drop Perez as soon as possible if Perez's sponsor from Carlos Slim and other Mexican's Tequila Booze Company Sponsor didn't come to McLaren in 2014. Mclaren does not have sponsor for 2014.
So Mclaren is desperately hunting sponsors.
That's why McLaren rush to sign Perez. There are many drivers a lot better than Perez but they could not competed money with Perez. So they can not get seat in McLaren.

Seems to be some difference of opinion between Mr Michael and Mr Button.
If this is the way SM wants to take McLaren, should we expect him to sign Maldonado for next year.
Mmmmm..... Mexican AND Venezuelan dosh by the ton.

Would keep the engineers busy too, rebuilding both cars after every race

Perez is taking calculated risk. He knows he has nothing to lose. So when he has a driver in site with alot on the line he knows he can try something slightly risky. Usually the driver is smart enough to let him through. Kimi used the little head instead of the big head in Monaco. Perez is trying to impress a very good team and some including his team mate think he should back down. I personally like his head strong ways.

Perez is doing a good job from the point of view of doing what Whitmarsh asked of him. He's still learning race craft but with his speed will easily whip Button into second place if allowed to do so.

Perez is a menace on the track. He put Kimi out of the points which he desperately needs to have a chance the title. Perez has zero chance of winning a race let alone the championship and is just a spoiler for those who are fighting for the championship. Maybe he and Grosjean can take each other out in Canada ans save the other drivers some grief.

objective. on re runs of perezs overtakes, including his prior attempt on kimi, space for the move was being constant at the 100m board. however, when he went for kimis inside, at the second attempt, kimi moved across. kimi knew perez was there and tried to block. at that time perez was committed and his car was pushed into the barriers. Monaco is always difficult, but you cannot blame perez for trying.
people are calling for koba to be back in f1, but koba was known as kamikaze koba for a reason.
so it is ok for koba to race and hit people, but not ok for perez to race?
