Two incidents in which he made contact with other cars saw Caterham's Giedo van der Garde handed a grid penalty for the British Grand Prix - for ignoring blue flags.

Only thing about that is, he should know all that anyway when he completed his super licence... A 5 place grid penalty is unlikely to affect him too much, in reality, it would only be one or 2 places he will lose, so really just a light slap on the wrist for him...

Have to say a poor race from vdG. Just when it seemed like he had upped his game in Spain and Monaco he really didn't do himself any favours in this race. Especially the incident with Webber was pretty amateurish. Luckily he does take responsibility for that one.

I think with Hulkenberg he does have a point that Hulkenberg drove into him but then he probably shouldn't be there in the first place.

Anyway, shame really...as a rookie in a backmarker team all you need to do is show the occasional highlight like he did in Monaco qualifying and then keep your nose clean and show maturity in finishing the rest of the races without incidents...This kind of stuff kills all his (already slim) chances to move up the team ladder.
