F1 » Michael vows Silverstone will be better than Montreal

Montreal will hopefully be the low point of McLaren's disappointing 2013 F1 season, according to sporting director Sam Michael.

Just reading this stuff gives me a headache. Now for the good news. Christian Horner, receives an OBE for services to motorsport. I am not a Red Bull fan boyite, but I have to give credit where credit is due. Christian Horner is a winner and everything he touches flourishes. If only the same thing could be said about Sam Michael.

Pretty certain Sam Michael is part of the problem, not as big an problem as Twitmarsh but that pair have a lot to answer for.

Wish Ron would come back!

Fernandabulous, the challenge for McLaren this season is not to be a total embarrassment. If Force India managed to keep above them in the constructor points championship this season, do you think there will be a McLaren shakeup at the top?

@Taz and everyone else

First of all, Sam Michael is sporting director and had nothing to do with the design of the car. I'm not a fan of his, but what is happening this year is far from his fault.

Second of all, give us all a break with the 'Bring back Ron Dennis' crap.

Why don't you remind us all how long before Whitmarsh took over did Dennis bring anything to McLaren except a £100M fine???

bob. you are right and you are wrong.whatever title is michaels,he is a jinx on a team and hasn't done anything of note.
but on the ron side, you are right. when ron was in charge, everybody was blaming him for the lack of results in macca and shouting for his removal. his authoritarian (dictatorial) attitude made macca an uncomfortable place to be in. his departure did create an easier environment in the team.

Ron had his good points but he had plenty of bad points, driver management being one of them. Ask Prost, Lauda, Coulthard, Alonso etc what they thought of Ron's management. His biggest problem was his utter favouritism of one driver over another. Whitmarsh at least knows how to manage drivers, there haven't been any major fallouts during his time which is quite an achievement given Lulu's temperament.
