Given what people are now saying about Dennis' favouritism, does this mean that McLaren ALWAYS had a number 1 - 2 driver policy - even though Dennis always publicly denied it to the press??

Copying Ferrari's driver policy while criticising them?

f1 rules. are you only copping on to that now? yes, kimi, Montoya, dc etc have all publicly stated that they were treated as the number 2. and look how button had to demur to team orders as well.

whilst saying that in respect of macca, every team has a number 1 and a number 2. to think otherwise is to live in cloud cuckoo land!

No richard, you miss my point. I knew all along. It's just I'm a bit surprised that Mac blatantly kept up that charade for years whenever they faced the cameras....when every man and his dog knew the opposite was the case!

That's my surprise...not whether they did it or not. Kapish?

It's quite funny...I remember the Lewis/Kovalainen years. Whenever Dennis or Whitmarsh faced the cameras and said: "At McLaren, we let our drivers race. Unlike other teams", I would mutter subconsciously under my breath: erm...no you don't...

LOL
