Pirelli boss thinking positively ahead of next season, despite current storm surrounding tyre manufacturer

Richard,
I think the idea of Michelin reentering F1 hilarious!
But never say never. Still it would take an extraordinary engineering effort to produce a safe and reliable tire in the time remaining before testing starts for next year. Michelin, more than most, would be well aware of this!

whats the point of designing a fast car if it has a mandatory weight limit for not carrying the kers gimmick, and has to go so slow because its limited on fueling and tires. lolz. Whats the point in racing at all if Pirelli can determine who wins and who loses based on how they engineer the tires? It's not about racing, its about entertainment, lets not pretend Taipan. At least with a weight penalty system and relaxed performance rules you would have better entertainment, and not the 'rigged' system you see now.

btw, the weight penalty system isn't something I prefer, but its more honest than the underhanded tire scam that is going on in GP racing.

pcx. you obviously have a diferent opinion as to what f1 racing is about. you want "entertainment" and are happy to see this artificially manufactured. personal, I want to see RACING, and innovation.
already there are so many parameters set under the rules, that cars are very close in performance, and any time that a team tries to innovate, they are pulled back into line. the tyre situation is a ploy by fia to keep people guessing.

PCX, Pirelli don't decide who wins races (although the recent test may question that) everyone gets the same tyres, crap or not, it's up to the teams to make the most of them.
IF F1 ever got to the stage of weighing down the faster cars, then having different constructors and designers is pointless. You may as well have a single make series and that is not F1,.

F1 is manufactured entertainment richard, I am appealing for more honest controls and more performance and less lying.

A lot of people want to be lied to unfortunately, so they believe in the one tire is fair for all crap, they believe in KERS which is not as energy efficient as petrol/weight loss, gimmicks like DRS zones.

And for everyone's information, the tires have been punishing Red Bull Racing (and other performing teams) for almost two seasons now, that's called persecution, and it's all to keep certain fan groups/interests in play, interested in the show that is F1.

If you want real racing, bring back some better tires and encourage COMPETITION. I know a lot of people these days dont appreciate competition and want to believe in fairness, but lets come to grips with reality shall we!

**btw, Taipan, fairness is not being told what to do, but some people dont get that. Thats what one could call 'television programming'.
