mark. no, and I said so the other day. crash have not got a thread on it, so I will go off topic here.
the report appeaed in an Italian publication, one that has started rumours before, usually I favour of Ferrari. it was due to a series of regular tyre marks as webber accelerated after being hit by vdg. the ecus are checked before each race, so electronic tc is out of the question. then axle tramp can also be dismissed as the suspension would not allow that. the concensus on other sites is that webber, to escape Alonso, used his kers, and the capacitors overloaded which caused a fractional cut of and re engagement. tc would not cause wheel hop, as it would feed power in a constant controlled surge. when tc was in use, such marks were NEVER seen. and the marks have never been seen anywhere , and if tc was the cause, the marks would have been apparent before, such as real starts, practice starts etc etc

contd. further , the tyre marks are not side by side, indicating that each wheel was operating separately, at different times. that might point to the diff switching power, which is perfectly legal. ie one wheel spins so lsd transfers power from the loaded side to the unloaded.

rob. your post jumped mine. wrong, if rbr were found to be using illegal tc, then I would agree that they should be severly punished. but if it was a natural thing as detailed before, then I would view the report as just mischief making.

Mark, and even more realistic is he should be hoping that the IT will not punish him (the drivers) as well as the team.
Both drivers participated in the test and so stood to benefit from it, now this time the FIA could not make a case for doing the same as it did in spygate (punishing the team but not the drivers).

The traction control rumours are just that (rumours up to now) but it should not be forgotten that there were rumours before about RBR messing with their engine maps, exhaust blowing, lunch control (using the anti stall map) and traction control, I am not saying that they were breaking the rules than but it is a fact that they were ordered to not to mess with engine maps by the FIA.

pretty sure you dont need to play with maps or ignition when you have an electrical generator/motor plugged in to your drive train, hard to say anything about the pic though.

The sound of the motor would have told a far clearer picture, probably even if the rear wheels were breaking periodically.
