Quick question for everyone. I've always been curious of these tests. Anyone know why these tests are not considered in season testing? I know it's just in a straight line but couldn't it actually help develop a car and it's downforce levels? Everytime I've seen these tests I've always wondered how they are legit. Any insight woul be ggreatly appreciated.

Well downforce is most important in the bends, in a straight line it's just creating drag and slowing the car down.

I guess you won't learn to much doing straight line test.

Common practice is to say your doing a GP2 test and then get your race drivers in (with plain helmets on) and do a sneaky 1000k test with next years tyres on a circuit used for testing F1 cars pre-season :)
